![]() ![]() My second character uses Fists and a Spear/Odachi/specifically Shoten Doji's club. I do not want human blood on my dear Sasayuki. For Humans, I'll use either a single or dual swords, depending on how I'm feeling at the time. The only exception is bosses that have a Yokai-esque transformation, I'll switch to the Switchglaive for that. I do not use it against any human enemies. So, my main character, my Switchglaive is my Yokai weapon. Either a "Human weapon" and a "Yokai weapon", so my Yokai blade never gets blood on it, or a "normal enemy" and a "large enemy" weapon. I personally like to have one of two things. Again, never really necessary, but it is nice for variety. Axe is slow so try adding tonfa for when you need quick strikes. ![]() Fists are very up close, so maybe pair with odachi for range. Just more generally, you might just want a second weapon to cover weaknesses of your other one. There's two recent posts on my profile showing it off if you want to look, but one is a boss spoiler if you don't want that. It can be really fun to mess around with and provides some unique opportunities. There's more high level stuff like quick swapping directly into another weapon's skill mid combo, referred to as MGFWS (machine gun flux weapon swap). Or Boulder Breaker for hatchets to get that quick hop away and some damage, for another example. So, for instance, having duals as a secondary means you can always throw out a quick Sign of the Cross. Some flash attacks are notably good, like odachi, sword, and splitstaff, so they can make for good ways to add pressure/damage.Īlso, any weapon with a sheathed attack can swap into any of those attacks from another weapon by pressing the swap button while sheathing. On a basic level, you always have the option to finish a combo string on a flash attack instead of a ki pulse. It isn't necessary but can be very helpful as you get better at building combos and so on.
